Gratitude in Action: Celebrating the People Who Showed Up When I Needed Them

Life has a way of surprising us, both with its joys and its challenges. There are moments when we find ourselves navigating stormy waters, feeling overwhelmed, and uncertain about the way forward. In these times of need, we often discover the incredible power of human connections. This blog is a celebration of those special individuals who showed up in our lives just when we needed them the most.

1. The Friend Who Listened

In times of hardship, there's nothing quite as therapeutic as having a friend who's willing to lend an ear. This is the person who patiently listened to your worries, fears, and frustrations without judgment. They offered a shoulder to cry on and provided you with the comfort of knowing that you were not alone in your struggles. Their ability to be present and genuinely listen is a gift beyond measure. I truly love my core group of best friends who are always there when I needed them to lean on. Nini, Crystal, Marlene, Vanessa. All you need is a few real friends in this life to get ya by. Something that takes time to learn sometimes.

2. The Mentor Who Guided

Whether it was in your career, education, or personal growth, there's likely been a mentor who played a pivotal role in your life. This individual saw your potential when you couldn't and provided invaluable guidance and wisdom. They helped you navigate challenges, set goals, and believe in yourself. Their impact not only shaped your path but also your mindset.

I can't thank my spiritual coach Maydelli Mendoza for her help raising my spirituality awareness. Calls included ugly cry calls, calling her when I was confused or felt triggered. She would help me stop repeating patterns that weren't in alignment with where I was trying to go. Without the countless hours of guidance, I know for sure, I wouldn't be the grounded woman I am today.

3. The Family Member Who Supported

Family is often our rock in times of need. Whether it's a parent, sibling, or extended family member, these individuals are the ones who have our backs unconditionally. They provide emotional, financial, and moral support when life takes unexpected turns. Their unwavering presence reminds us of the power of familial bonds. When I look back at it, I'm so thankful for my family.

My mom for always being able to count on her, she's the hardest working person I know. Shes for sure where I get my work ethic for sure. My brothers for being my personal moving company through the years, or also my personal handy mans for whatever I needed. Having brothers have taught me things my parents couldn't. The way my brothers have shown up for me when I needed them, I can hardly thank them enough lately. My nieces and nephews are literally my joy. I love being able to connect and laugh with them any chance I get.

4. The Stranger Who Cared

Sometimes, it's not just those close to us who make a difference. Occasionally, a stranger enters our lives at just the right moment and restores our faith in humanity. Whether it's a kind gesture, a comforting word, or a helping hand from someone you've never met before, their selflessness serves as a reminder that goodness exists everywhere.

All the amazing people that approach me with their kindness and support. You guys are the signs in my life that I am in alignment with where I am going. I love you guys.

5. The Love That Healed

Love has the remarkable ability to heal and mend even the deepest wounds. The person who stood by you during your darkest hours, loving and supporting you unconditionally, deserves a special place in your heart. Their love and acceptance helped you find strength and resilience you didn't know you possessed.

My kids heal me every day, they are my strength in all that I do. Also, my friends who have cried with me when we both didn't know what we were doing. I remember all those moments that healed me. Although I may be on my own path right now, I can never forget those beautiful moments.

Life's challenges can sometimes feel isolating, but it's during these times that we discover the incredible impact of human connections. As we reflect on the people who showed up when we needed them the most, let's remember to express our gratitude. Whether through words, gestures, or simply being there for them in return, showing appreciation for their presence in our lives is a meaningful way to honor the bonds that have brought us through adversity. These relationships remind us that we are never truly alone, and that is something to be profoundly thankful for.

Write a list of people you are thankful for, and then treat them as such.

Hope this helps,
